– Elino, congratulations on the victory. 11 winnings in a row in the first circle Rolan Harros is striking. What is your secret of such a exemplary start?

– Thank you. In fact, there is no secret here – It all comes down to focus from the first minutes. No matter how many times you have won, it is always difficult to start the tournament. I am very glad that today managed to keep the game level from the first to the last draw. The maximum concentration is required, because the first match can easily be the last – it is a rand of slight, and every rival is extremely motivated.

– Was it a plus to start the tournament on Sunday, even on the court of Suzann Langlen?

– Absolutely. I even consciously wanted to play on Sunday. After the tournament in Rome, ten days have passed and the start on the first day gives me the opportunity to get two full days for recovery – It’s perfect. And to play on such a large court, in front of a large audience – it always adds motivation. Plus, there is a roof on Langlen – and in Paris now strong wind and rain, which are very interfered with on open courts. Today I could fully focus on the game.

– I saw you in the morning training on the same court. Has the coverage changed this year?

– The rebound remained the same as last year. But the weather affects – There was no sun, it was cool, so the ball flies a little differently. This is also important to consider, especially on the soil.

– In the next circle – Hungary Anna Bondar. What you know about her?

– Frankly speaking, not too much. Today, after her match, she managed to see some of her games with Sigmund. I will see a video of her matches, I will listen to what the coaching staff will say. But for me always the main thing – be in the right psychological and physical condition. This is the foundation on which any tactics are built.
