Tear gas, sore fans in Munich before the Champions League final (Video)
Celebrations for the long-awaited Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter, which will be played tonight at Allianz Arena at 9pm, have been darkened by violent clashes and strong tensions in the streets of Munich.
German police have raised the alarm level as the situation has escalated in some parts of the city, just hours before the match started.
Incident in the subway: tear gas and panic
One of the most serious episodes was recorded on the U6 line of Metroa at the Universität station, where the use of tear gas inside one of the trains was reported. The incident led to emergency brake activation, causing interruption and chaos in the movement of passengers. Metro staff failed to intervene due to the tense situation.
Sore fans near the stadium
Other voltages were recorded at the Fröttmaning station, near the stadium where the final will be played. Some Inter fans have been injured, even some reports speak of bleeding fans after physical clashes. Fortunately, a safety fence between the rails stopped for the violence from spread further.
Stones and clashes between fans
The clashes have continued at other points in the city. At the Fröttmaning station, Inter fans are reported to have stoned in the direction of PSG fans. Physical clashes were also recorded at the Central Train Station, where police intervened rapidly to avoid escalation of violence.
