Before the final games of the group, Latvia is fourth in the sub -group and ahead of its future opponent Austria, as well as Slovakia, who has a match against Finland by two points. The group tournament will end the Latvians on Tuesday with a match against the Austrians.

In Group A, Sweden is the leader with 18 points in six games, Canada and Finland scored 15 and 11 points in five games, nine points in six games for Latvia, seven Austria and Slovakia, and one by France and Slovenia.
16 teams are divided into two groups, eight teams each, with a round tournament. The top four teams in each group will continue their fight for medals in the quarterfinals, but the weakest teams in both groups will leave the strongest division, and will be replaced by Britain and Italy next year.
The World Championship in Herning and the Swedish capital, Stockholm, will end the weekend. Group B games and two quarter -final matches will take place in Herning, while Stockholm will also host two quarter -final duties, semi -final games and medals.
