Tatar: Teknofest wind blowing to the world from TRNC – Cyprus Newspaper

In his speech at the closing ceremony of Teknofest 2025, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, said that Türkiye’s success in the defense industry and its breakthroughs in the field of technology are inspiring for the Turkish Cypriot people. Tatar emphasized that there was an intense participation from all over the TRNC and said, “Teknofest wind blew from the TRNC to the whole world,” he said.
Tatar, in his speech Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir, T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selcuk Bayraktar and the accompanying delegation greeted with respect. Teknofest’in two years ago after a meeting with Selcuk Bayraktar’la reminded that Tatar said, « That day, Teknofest’de TRNC will make our people very happy. Today we live this happiness together, » he said.
Nearly 150 thousand visitors
Tatar stating that nearly 150 thousand people visited the Technophast area during the event, stressed that this figure is a great success in the TRNC scale. Despite the difficulties of transportation and infrastructure, the public shows the interest of the Turkish Cypriot people’s interest in technology and the importance given to national consciousness.

In his speech, Tatar pointed out the importance of Türkiye’s defense industry institutions in the event and said, “It is an indication of the labor given since 1974 to bring our youth together with the success of organizations such as ASELSAN”.
President Tatar said that Motherland Türkiye shared its rising power and vision with the TRNC, and that these achievements are reflected to the Turkish Cypriot people: “Türkiye is no longer a regional, but a global power. The TRNC is an integral part of this power.”

Tatar also sent a message to Southern Cyprus: “For us, independence and freedom are indispensable. There may be different insights, but we are walking confidently on our own way.”
Underlining that Teknofest is a great source of inspiration for young generations, Tatar said that in the future, the economic, social and cultural structure of the TRNC will be strengthened with such organizations.
Thanks to Erdogan and Bayraktar
While President Tatar thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his participation and messages at the opening of the Republic Campus, he presented his gratitude to the President of T3 Foundation Selçuk Bayraktar for his contribution to Teknofest’s contribution to the TRNC.
At the end of his speech, Tatar thanked everyone who contributed to the organization, « It was not easy. Over 200 trucks came here with the material. This success we live with our people gave hope to future generations. We felt the power of Türkiye here, » he said.
