Tashkovsky and Navrockis / Day will compete in the second round of the Polish presidential elections

A survey of the sociological research firm « Ipsos », which was released this morning, found that the mayor of Warsaw Tashkovsky, nominated by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, represented by a liberally conservative civic coalition (ko), has won 31.2% of the National Coalition in the first round. (PIS) candidate Navrockis received 29.7% of the vote.

In third place, with 14.9% of the vote, the opposition’s extreme right -wing « Confederation » candidate Slavomir Mentens.

There were 13 candidates in the first round. Official election results are expected today or tomorrow.

The second round will be held on June 1st.

« I would like to thank the millions of Poles who voted for me. Those millions of Poles who did not obey propaganda and lies, » Navrockis told his supporters in Gdansk on election night.

Navrockim has been better in the first round of the elections than the surveys predicted, while Tashkovsky’s score was worse than expected.

The broadcaster « TVP info » reported that voter turnout reaches 66.8%.

According to the Polish Constitution, the current President Andrew Duda cannot stand for the third term as the president. Duda’s second and last five years as president will end in August 2025. In this presidential election, Duda, who was a member of a PIS, before his election, expressed his support for Navrock.

Tashkovsky had already been in the presidential election in 2020, but then lost to Dud in the second round with a slight vote.

It is important for Tuskam to win the presidential election by ally Tashkovsky. This would facilitate the adoption of laws, as when the president is in the opposition candidate, the government must take into account that the president can veto any law.
