Tarot-Evgrafov: the opening of the Narva-1 point at night will not solve the problem of queues on the border
Long queues on the border are associated with the military operations of Russia against Ukraine, and Estonia, including all its citizens and residents, must fully ensure that the sanctions were introduced against Russia in order to contribute to the cessation of the inhuman war, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia Igor Taro in response to the request of the deputy of the Riigikogu and the Narvsky City Board of Alexei Evgrav.
Tarot emphasized that the queues at the border posts are connected with the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia recommended that he completely refrain from traveling to Russia, writes Err.
Answering Evgrafov’s question why it has not yet been made a decision on the re-opening of the Narva-2 border point, if there are no real threats, Tarot said that the entire European Union has stopped all transport relations with Russia precisely because of Russia’s military operations against Ukraine, therefore, the restriction of the possibilities for travel and trade with Russia is the priority duty of states condemning the war.
“Based on this, Estonia has not yet decided to open,” Tarot stated in his response.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia, the night opening of the Narva-1 point will not reduce the queues, since at the moment they are caused by total customs control of all goods and persons leaving Estonia.
