Direct damage to 90 percent of the airways of the smoke he inhaled, along with a large area of burns, which is about 36 percent, is the reason for the 29-year-old Alexdar Karadakoski’s dying, which was treated in Lithuania, was at a press conference today.
« With great regret, I would like to report that early this morning one of the 116 patients sent out of the country, Aleksandar Karadakoski, who was being treated in Lithuania, unfortunately, died, » Taravari said at today’s press conference at the Ministry of Health, expressing their compassion.
He pointed out that the died pace was at the age of 29, sent for treatment on March 17, the second day after the tragedy in Kocani, and was originally hospitalized at the Skopje City Hospital.
Director of the University Clinic for Surgical Diseases « St. Naum Ohridski » Nebojsa Nastov informs in more detail about the process of healing Karadakovski and the extent of the injuries he has succumbed to.
– The patient was admitted to our facility around 6am after the event in Kocani. During the day there is a deterioration of his condition. In the afternoon there is a stretch of intubation, ie providing mechanical ventilation and is installed on artificial respiration appliances. Generally, it is continued with its intensive treatment and treatment of burns, which I must mention were not small. The total area of burns is about 36 percent, mostly in the head, neck and upper limbs of second and third degree. And because of the smoke he inhaled, there is damage to the internal respiratory organs as confirmed by colleagues from Lithuania in conversation with our anesthesiologists when he briefed the state of the Paican, which was regularly taken every day or two. It has been established by a broinchospish examination that much of the bronchoscopic tree has been damaged and as a result deteriorating the condition resulting in the injuries – said the director Nastov.
He also points out that 24 hours after receiving the hospital, Karadakovski was transferred to Lithuania with a medical sanitation. The direct cause of death cited direct damage to the airway from the smoke that was inhaled.
Taravari emphasized that Karadakoski was actually the most severe patient of those who were treated abroad.
-On April 1, the kidneys were canceled, it was put on dialysis, there was fever. Practically wounds at approximately 36 percent of the body, from second and third degree, leaving room for infections, plus 90 percent airbag burns that do not provide adjacent gas exchange, Taravari said.
For the transport of the body of the deceased everything is organized, and the autopsy will be done in Skopje.
Taravari said at a news conference that 78 patients remain from a total of 193 injured in the tragedy in Kocani for treatment. Of these, 14 patients are currently being treated in the country, five of whom will be written, they are stable, in good consistent and will be treated at home, and nine remain in Skopje hospitals.
Six new patients in stable condition are expected to return today – two from Bulgaria, Hungary and Spain. According to protocols, those 24 hours will stay in our hospitals where they were sent and then released for home treatment.
-Only 69 patients remain practically outside the country, three of whom, unfortunately, are in critical and unstable. It is good that 118 are already being treated at home from 193 and are good and all in good condition. Outside the country, most are in stable and good condition, more patients are announced to return to the next 3-4 days-Taravari said.
