TAP flies directly from Faro to Funchal from June

TAP will operate from June a new air route with direct flights between Faro and Funchal. The route will have a frequency of two weekly flights, the Portuguese airline announced Monday.

The new direct airline will take place between June 2 and September 11, on Monday and Thursday, and will be operated with Embraer 190 aircraft with a capacity of 106 passengers.

A Company statement also informs that a total of 30 frequencies is foreseen, corresponding to an offer of 3,180 seats in each direction of travel.

On Mondays, the flight departs from Funchal at 8:50 pm to Faro, being the flight between Faro and Funchal at 11:15 pm. On Thursdays, the flight departs from Funchal at 6:10 am and from Faro at 8:35 am.

“With this new connection, TAP unites two of Portugal’s most important tourist regions, facilitating not only the mobility of the Portuguese, but also combined tourist demand,” argues TAP’s note.

The new air connection reinforces the offer of direct summer flights, starting and arriving at Gago Coutinho airport in Faro, which now has 86 routes to 75 destinations.

In addition to Funchal, there will be routes between Faro and three new markets: Eas, more concretely New York, through United Airlines, from May, Finland, with flights to Helsinquia operated by Finnair, and Iceland, with calls to Requiza to Play.
