“For more than ten years, we have sequentially expand the network of public points with drinking water. This year, there are already 59 points with water in the city, from which every citizen can get clean drinking water and thereby save nature. Each crane helps save dozens of plastic bottles per day, ”said Alexander Timofeev, CEO of Tallinna Vesi.
In addition to the cranes already operating last year, this year the company opened new water taps at the addresses of Akhtri 6B, Narvskoye Shosse 1, KAARLY 7 Street, Reisia T1 Street, Lemme 107, Linnamae Thee 28A.
All points with drinking water are marked with a QR code that can be scanned to see other drinking water supply points on the map. Public cranes with drinking water are open throughout the summer season. These are also convenient places where you can get water for pets.
“The popularity of drinking cranes is growing from year to year,” Timofeev explained. – Warm weather attracts people to parks, playgrounds and health paths. In cooperation with Tallinn, we decided to place the taps primarily on pedestrian paths, in recreation areas and in the old city, where both locals and tourists enjoy clean tap water in the summer. ”
Water from public drinking cranes with the marking « Tallinn Water » has a controlled quality and is suitable for drinking. The company constantly controls the quality of water, selecting more than 3,000 water samples per year.
The project to install drinking water cranes was originally conceived as part of the inclusive budget of Tallinn.
