Tajik’s dictator appealed to the Hague Court
It is wrong to assume that events in distant Central Asia do not touch us. Today, there are dozens of Tajikas families who escaped from terrible repression, but the real peace is not guaranteed to them even here in Europe. Since 1992 Rachmon’s favorite dictator Emomali’s favorite is trying to achieve far escaped opponents, which is already a direct security challenge for European countries, including Lithuania.
Three organizations – the Ukrainian International Volunteer Foundation, NGO Freedom Eurasia and the Tajik Islamic Revival Party – appealed to the International Criminal Court (TBT) with a claim with more than 60 individual cases based on factual material and testimony of witnesses and victims. There are dozens of crimes, including illegal arrests and imprisonment, torture, sexual violence, human abduction, deportations and murders, which, according to the claims, are directly responsible for E. Rachmon’s regime. The material collected covers the period from 2011. until 2024, when the regime executed the total « cleaning » of any opposition. Human rights defenders and victims of repression are asking TBT prosecutors to open these systematic crimes and ensure the safety of victims, witnesses and their representatives.
Perhaps the most affected opposition political force is the Islamic Rebirth Party, banned in 2015. Many of its members had to flee abroad from the persecution. Many of them found refuge in Germany and other European countries, including Lithuania.

Party member of Vilnius, a political refugee Ilchomzhon Jakubzoda for the portal Kauno.daina.lt He argued that the action TBT, even if it was not upheld, shows that the suffering Tajiks still find the strength to fight the dictator’s regime and call for the correctness of the international community: “Tajik’s opposition has taken a bold step in the international scene. Dozens of repressive programs, so within the country, beyond it. ”
The dissident emphasized that the dictatorial regime is not tired of carrying out aggressive and often criminal activities in other countries where the asylum was found by opposition representatives. For this purpose, diplomatic missions and secret services are submitted. The Tajikistan regime is happy to use the « services » of anti -democratic regimes (such as Russian and Gudia). Manipulated by international law, requiring extradition of dissidents under the guise of home -based accusations of terrorism and extremism.
It is quite clear who would wait for me at home. I myself, my father, my mother and sister – are all sentenced to prison for many years.
« Two oppositionists have recently been abducted in Turkey, » Jakubzoda said. If the opposition has a relatives’ homeland, repression is directed against them to force the escaped dissidents to return and surrender. People are unable to work, constantly intimidated, and are detained by regime officials without reason. People’s businesses and private property are deprived. On the one hand, the relatives of oppositionists are sometimes forced to flee the country as well, but here too, the regime creates an obstacle – foreign passports are deprived of them.
The aim is also to influence the information space of countries where refugees have found refugees – there are troll farms in social networks and commentary lobes, and disinformation about oppositionists are disseminated. In the information space, there is an attempt to form the opinion that the parties admitted not dissidents, but criminals, terrorists and radicals.
« I want Lithuanians to find out about the crimes committed in my homeland. They touch every refugee. My younger brother Faruch chased the regime service all year round, and finally killed and buried my relatives. At home.
