Chief of the Paris Police Laurent Nunez confirmed the relevant plans of the organizers, but there are some open questions.
« We need to see if we have enough staff and enough mobile units, » said police chief Nunez. « It’s not the same as having 80 riders at the Olympics and then 170 on the French bow. »
At the Olympics Road, cyclists repeatedly crossed Montmartre past the famous Moulin Rouge theater. Tens of thousands of fans provided a charged atmosphere in the area, according to the German news agency dpa.
The last stage of the Tour will end again in the Champs Elysees.
