In the same disco, a moment earlier, 22-year-old Dawid T. On and his cousin Maciej M. also left the club. David got behind the wheel of his Volkswagen Golf, even though he had drinked alcohol before. A moment later a drama took place on the road. The car with impetus hit a group of young people walking on the side of the road.
Daria, despite resuscitation, had no chance of a rescuek. her four friends were hospitalized. Only Daria’s boyfriend, Filip, came out unscathed. What did the driver do? He did not help the victims, just pressed the gas to his breath and escaped with a 17-year-old passenger sitting next to him. The police detained the 22-year-old only in the afternoon.
Dawid T. heard the accusation of « intentional violation of safety rules and traffic rules by failing to follow special caution, in which he hit the right side of pedestrians. » As a result, one person suffered, and two suffered injuries. Then, without stopping and without help, he ran from the scene of the accident.
In turn, the passenger Maciej M. heard the allegation of not helping the victim in the position threatening the direct danger of losing his life or severe damage to health.
An accident in Szymbark. The trial has started
On Monday, March 24, before the District Court in Kartuzy, a trial in the case of a tragic accident began. Dawid T. and the car passenger Maciej M. sat on the bench
The perpetrator of the accident pleaded guilty. He began his testimony with an apology directed towards victims and close to the deceased Daria.

The man testified that he did not see pedestrians while moving from the disco And he was convinced that he hit the animal. He explained the help of the victims of the accident with shock and stress. He added that he understood the seriousness of the matter only when he read information about a fatal accident in the media. He assured that he did not drink alcohol in a disco, but in his earlier testimonies read by the court appeared that he had drank « half a drink ».
In turn, the car passenger Maciej M. pleads not guilty. He said that during the party in the disco he drank a lot, and when he got into David T.’s car he tried to fall asleep. He said that during the event he had his eyes closed, but he heard a bang and saw pieces of glass from the broken glass on his clothes. He was to hear from the driver that it was a blow to a roe deer – he quotes the testimonies of the man ExpressSkaszubski.pl.
Maciej M. went to church on Easter Monday to play with the orchestra. It was there that he was supposed to find out from his friends about a tragic accident. « Then I guessed that we could take part in it, » he said.
Dawid T. is punishable by imprisonment for not less than two years, up to 12 years. In turn, the car passenger is threatened by three years in prison. The next trial is to take place in April.
