SYRIZA Pre -Trial: KKE and New Left reject the proposal – What have they announced

KKE and New Left, moving from a different basis in their criticism, rejected SYRIZA’s proposal for a pre -trial committee, with Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the target.

The new Left calls on SYRIZA to withdraw his proposal so as not to give a « window of escape to the prime minister ». The KKE argues that its proposal shows all the political and criminal responsibilities that led to the crime of Tempi.

SYRIZA’s proposal

In SYRIZA’s proposal for the establishment of a pre -trial committee, the prime minister is abandoned for four offenses:

• Criminal disturbance of the safety of a fixed track transport, resulting in human bodily harm, significant damage to utility facilities, or the death of a large number of persons
• improper infidelity
• breach of duty and
• compassion

It requires the signatures of 30 Members. SYRIZA has implied that he would like his proposal to vote even by the six independent MPs affiliated with Stefanos Kasselakis, as well as the six MPs of the Freedom Sun.

Stefanos Kasselakis has stated that the Democracy Movement would support a proposal that would include the prime minister’s name.

KKE’s response: Excuse

The KKE also rejected SYRIZA’s proposal for Tempi pre -trial investigation.

« SYRIZA’s proposal for the establishment of a pre -trial committee for the Crime of Tempi is a » forgiveness « in the Euro -based policy of liberalizing – commercialization and depreciation of the railway, which was also implemented by its own government with a crime of privatization. »

And adds:

« It is this policy that is facing and continues to treat security as a cost. The KKE has submitted its own proposal, which shows all the political and criminal responsibilities that led to the crime and identifies the persons who need to be controlled under a committee. « 

New Left: Bid Play

In a statement, the President of the New Left, Alexis Haritsis, notes that January 29, 2025, « the prime minister in an interview with Antonis Schroeder had stated: » I can assure you that the government majority will not stand in the way.  » What was the possibility? Mr Karamanlis’ criminal liability investigating the crime of Tempi, as long as he reached the parliament.

On May 27, 2025, it turned out that Mr Mitsotakis was lying to Greek society. The New Democracy has made a proposal to set up pre -trial investigation to investigate any responsibilities of K. Karamanlis, but only for the offense of breach of duty. And having already made it clear that the Tempe Minister had no responsibility and responsibility for the safety on the railway and that even for the misdemeanor « the evidence of any criminal liability at the expense of K. Karamanlis is not strong ».

ND seeks impatience for all political persons

According to the new left, the New Democracy proposal « is scandalous. It is provocative. It is a supply of amnesty to K. Karamanlis. The New Democracy seeks impunity for all politicians who led the rail to break up and starred in the scandal of concealment. « 

And Alexis Haritsis adds: « We must be clear. The government has the absolute majority in the House. This means that it is up to her to reject – and this will make – the proposals submitted by the opposition parties. And this rejection leads to something accomplished: the case is closing.

« I’ll just say it so that there is no misinterpretation. If the New Democracy votes against – as it is obviously doing – the opposition’s proposal for the prime minister’s possible criminal responsibilities, then this story ends here. It doesn’t only matter what the majority will approve, but also what they will reject. « 

‘There was no consultation’

It also states that « the new Left is the party it fought to have a common attitude of the progressive and democratic opposition parties. You know that I went to Mr. Androulakis, Mr. Famello, Mr. Koutsouba and Mrs. Constantopoulou. Unfortunately there was no consultation on reasons that do not concern the new left.

»Then we saw a bidding game. Objectively, regardless of intentions, it serves the basic intention of the government: to acquit irrevocably – here very carefully the words I use – the prime minister and to pave the way for Mr Karamanlis’ exemption.

« This is the truth. And we, the parties of the Democratic Opposition, have an obligation: not to give a window to escape Mr. Mitsotakis. « 

A House with another power correlation

And ends:

« The new Left calls on the democratic opposition parties not to facilitate Mitsotakis. To withdraw proposals that will be voted down by the majority of the ND by creating residents, virtually rinse out Mitsotakis – Karamanlis’ criminal responsibilities. The case must remain open. So that a House with a different correlation of power can investigate the criminal responsibilities of all the protagonists of the crime.

The complete investigation of the crime of Tempi cannot be done by a government that has transformed the concealment into a profession. It requires a House that will be the majority of the political forces that believe in the administration of justice. «
