The Federal Office of Culture has been awarding the Swiss Film Award since 1998. The winners of this year were announced on Friday evening in Geneva.

“Las Novias del Sur” by Elena López Riera received the award in the “Best Short Film” category. “Sans Voix” by Samuel Patthey was awarded in the “Best Animation Film” category. “Maman Danse” was recognized by Mégane Brügger as the best final film. The feature film « The Sparrow in the Fireplace » cleared out twice: Director Ramon Zürcher received the prize for the best script as well as with Peter von Siebenthal and Balthasar Jucker for the best tone.
In the category of the best actor, David Constantin (as Bax in « Tschugger – The Litters Fall ») and Dimitri Krebs (as Ernst Schrämli in « State trait ») were awarded. The quartz for the best actress went to Laetitia Dosch for her role of Avril in her own feature film debut « Le Procès du Chien ». Rachel Braunschweig received a quartz trophy as the best supporting actress for her interpretation of the Erna Gmür in “Friedas Fall”.
Marcel Vaid was awarded for the best film music in « Les Paradis de Diane » and Gabriel Sandru received an award for the best camera in « Electric Child ». In the “Best Montage” category, Kevin Schlosser was awarded for his work in “Riverboom”.
The special prize of the academy was awarded this year to Oliver Keller for his work as a stunt coordinator in the film « Tschugger – who is letting the case ». The Swiss-French couple and artistic team Barbet Schroeder and Bulle Ogier were honored with the honorary award for their life's work.
