Swimming, dux and Olympic in chemistry
Bergur Fáfnir Bjarnason is the Dux Flensburg School, with a score of 9.74. However, he was not present at the school’s graduation ceremony, as he was competing in the swim at Andorra International Games. Later this summer, Bergur competes in the International Olympic Cup in chemistry in Dubai.
The graduation ceremony took place at the same time as Bergur competed on behalf of Iceland at the Andorra International Games, where he secured a bronze medal in the 200 -meter backstroke.
« When the graduation was running, I had a little difficulty with this. After I got on the podium, I could accept the absence, » he says in a conversation with mbl.is.
Bergur has been practicing swimming from a young age. He says the organization is key in coordinating swimming and study. Bergur will compete later this month at the Summer Championships of Iceland in swimming.
Performed peer -teaching
For outstanding results in education, Bergur received the University of Iceland Education Prize, a grant from Rio Tinto as well as numerous other awards.
Bergur has also held peer teaching in mathematics and sciences within the Flensburg School, which has proved to be good for his fellow students.
Next stop Dubai
The realities are good for Berg, but he has competed in national competition in chemistry twice. Bergur came in eighth place in the national competition last year but was determined to do better this year, which he managed.
« The competition is so much that I participated again and this time I won and thus I secured a seat in the Olympic team in chemistry. »
Later this summer, he will take part in a chemistry Olympic competition that takes place in Dubai. There, Bergur competes on behalf of Iceland along with four others.
