Stockholm. The murder of a Mikael Pole in Sweden
As PAP reminds, at the beginning of March M. was sentenced to the highest possible punishment, 14 years imprisonment. At the time of the crime, in April 2024, the perpetrator was 17 years old. If he was of legal age, he would face life imprisonment. The convict did not agree with the sentence and appealed. During the appeal hearing on Monday, May 5 he stated that she had shot the weapon accidentally, thus pushing the blame.
PAP refers to the prosecutor Ove Jaeverfelt, who stated that If the court considers the teenager’s explanation to reliable, it is possible that he will be responsible for causing death, not a murder. This can alleviate the dimension of a pre -awarded penalty.
The process will last until May 26. M. demands acquittal or reduction of the judgment.
At the beginning of March, the District Court decided that the traces of DNA found on the crime tool, i.e. a converted start pistol, belonged to M. The accused testified that earlier, on another occasion, he only fired a trial shot. In the justification of the judgment, the judge assessed these explanations as unbelievable – reminds PAP. How will it be this time? It turns out.
