Zürcher SVP politician wins on court-but the judge accuses the party of racial discrimination
A media release from the SVP Zurich violates the anti-racism penalty standard, judges the Uster District Court. Why the former party president is still acquitted.

He is relieved about the outcome of the procedure, says the SVP politician. As the then party president, he assumed political responsibility, but not the legal. In the election campaign, in which one was at the time, he could not look at all the party’s announcements before the publication.
He cannot understand the court’s assessment that the media release is partially racist. « We never wanted to insult or discriminate on someone, » he says.
Despite defeat, the Eritreig Medienbund also takes note of the judgment. The court thus sends the court « an unmistakable signal to the SVP ». «No politics can be made with racist agitation. I am happy, the court found it today, »says plaintiff Samira Abbe.
The judgment is not yet final. The Eritreig Media Association checks a possible forward to the Zurich High Court.
