SUV and sales: It’s not just fashion!
Almost with … blind eyes, new buyers of new cars buy the most popular category that is SUVs. The… fashion in the car market, which now has a stereotypical trend, is the favorite category of all drivers, who prefer gasoline versions, with a continuous upward trend in plug in while diesels are constantly limited (as the brands are removing oil versions).
The wide trend in the SUVs is also reflected by last year’s sales. In 2024 only SUV models sales touched 44,975 cars in Greece in January – December 2024, with its share of all market totaling 32.81% (from 26.64% in 2023 and 24.27% in 2022).
Equally important is that the purely electric b-SUVmanaged to rise, in 2024, with 1,626 registrations, which translates to 18.67%. In Greece the most welcome SUV is the new Toyota Yaris Crossfollowed by Peugeot 2008 and the third comes the Suzuki Vitara. All three models are offered in their range with electrified motors, have large spaces and win their audiences that they have « built » a dynamic name on the car market!
And already this category will continue to be enriched in 2025 with new models, which are in the category of small and medium -sized SUVs. In particular, the Citroen has been launching the new C3 Aircross for a few days, Being a practical crossover, offered at a particularly tempting price, with spaces and many engines.
At the same wavelength is the new one Dacia Bigster Combining the advantages of a C-SUV category model. The new Bigster is one of the most spacious cars in the C-SUV category, it is also the first model of the Renault Group moving from the brand new Hybrid 155 drive system, combining a 4-cylinder 107-hp petrol engine, two electric motors, a 1.4 kWh battery (230V). There will also be a gas version.
In the same category of crossovers is Hyundai’s new electric (EV) vehicle with top autonomy, Inster begins its commercial career in Greece.
In particular, the crossover version of the Hyundai Inster is ready for adventure. The Inter Cross is designed to attract urban explorers as well as rural lovers. With an electrical autonomy of up to 360 kilometers (WLTP), robust design features – such as slip plates and roof racks, combines travel in the city with weekend getaways.
