Suspected racist terror murder in France – urged to vote for Le Pen
The shooting of death took place in Puget-sur-Argens, a small town with 8,000 inhabitants on the French Riviera. The suspected perpetrator was open on social media with his right -wing opinions, and this evening he produced a weapon he owned legally, because he is a member of a shooting association.
He shot his neighbor, a 45-year-old Tunisian citizen, with five shots. The Tunisian worked as a hairdresser in the city, and died from his injuries. A Turkish man was seriously injured at the same time.
The 53-year-old suspected the perpetrator then fled the car from the scene, and was arrested a few hours later by police. He is suspected of murder and suspected terrorist crime.
The man has previously spread right -wing extremist, violent propaganda and hatred of Muslims and Arabs on social media.
On a movie that he is believed to have been recorded just before the act, and which several media have access to, he shows a gun and says: “Tonight we say stop, stop to the Islams (sic), for hell. For hell, French, wake up, show some stake and give you out and find them. « That! »
In another video that was probably recorded after the deed, and which Le Monde has seen, he urges, sitting in his car, to vote for a national collection.
– If Marine (Le Pen) or Jordan (Bardella) does not come to power, guys, then you have to wake up!
It is the suspected calls for violence that have contributed to the categorizing the French anti -terrorist police as a terrorist offense. This is the first time that a suspected murder with right -wing extremist motifs is being investigated as a terrorist crime in France.
When a 23-year-old Malian citizen was murdered on April 25 in a mosque in southern France, for example, the police chose not to categorize the murder as a terrorist crime. It aroused criticism, because the perpetrator filmed the deed, said « your shit-allh » and exposed the victim to between 30 and 40 knife -cut.
But the fact that the perpetrator in this case so openly talked about politics in connection with the act is believed to have led to the heading.
However, a national collection dismisses all ties to the perpetrator in Puget-sur-Argens, and points out that he is not a member of the party.
