Suspect of Homicide in Oliveira do Bairro detained by GNR

Jair Pereira, suspected of murdering Conceição Figueiredo, ex-girlfriend, was arrested on Saturday afternoon near home after he was 20 days on the run.

« The suspect was arrested this afternoon near his area of ​​residence in Oliveira do Bairro, » Aveiro district, the source of the Judiciary Police told Lusa, without further details.

The suspect hid at the house of an emigrant who was absent during the winter. The warning was given by it when returning to the housing. The woman found clothes and other assets that did not belong to her, left and immediately called GNR.

The guard has called means for an “property invasion” eventually finding it. Jair still tried to get out of the rear. However, it could not escape. After that, he was handed over to the Judicial Police (PJ) and is currently in the Department of Criminal Investigation (DIC) of Aveiro, where he will remain until he is taken to a criminal instruction judge.

It is recalled that Jair had been running around for about 20 days since the disappearance of Conceição Figueiredo. The suspect called a friend to reveal the crime and where he had hidden the corpse in Serra da Mortágua.

The woman’s body was found on Sunday in the Mortágua area, Viseu district.
