« Support for Sports for Strong Women of the Future » campaign has been launched – Cyprus Newspaper
In order to encourage girls to sports and to support their achievements by creating equal opportunities, Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) launched a support for Girls Sports Teams.
According to the statement made by LTB, in line with the decision of LTB Sports Club management, the needs of girls sports teams operating in different branches such as volleyball, fusball and athletics, which are affiliated to state secondary schools within the municipal borders, will be met.
In the preliminary meetings held by Nicosia Türk Municipality Social Services Branch with Six State Secondary Schools, the needs lists of girls sports teams were created. LTB will also make the contribution of the teams will be met with the equipment needs of the teams.
LTB President Mehmet Harmancı said in a statement on the subject, “I attach great importance to the 'Supporting Sports for Sports for Strong Women of the Future' project launched by our Social Service Branch within the framework of March 8 this year.” he said.
Emphasizing that participation in sporting activities at an early age has a very important contribution to physical, emotional and social development, Harmancı said, “As a society, we have to work especially in order to meet the obstacles for girls to meet different sports and to eliminate the obstacles to their participation. Girls who are at peace with their bodies, have high self -confidence, learn to develop competition and solidarity together will be strong and successful women of the future and will contribute more effectively to the transformation of society. ” He said.
Harmancı reminded that LTB founded a girl football team in collaboration with LTB in 2021 and said that this support will be presented by LTB and Sports Club to Girls' Sports Teams of Secondary Schools.
