Support for families, the city invests in nurseries
Krakow actively supports families, providing access to the care of the youngest residents. Subsidies for private facilities are growing. Part of the money for investments in nurseries comes from the city’s own funds, the rest is co -financing from the KPO and the state budget.
An opportunity to look at the situation of nursery in Krakow was a visit to the facility at ul. Lipska 75 Secretary of State at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy Aleksander Gajewska and the President of Krakow Aleksander Miszalski.
– The government approaches early childhood care. What we managed to implement this year is 23,000. new places in nurseries all over Poland. We want to guarantee families with security, a sense of stability and the belief that they can combine family and professional life. It is worth adding that all public nursery workers received a thousand zlotys incentive. Without support and without involved local government officials, these tasks would not be possible, because local governments carry out government programs – says Aleksandra Gajewska.
At the beginning of 2023, Krakow decided to increase the subsidies to non -public childcare facilities, increasing support for parents by PLN 735 per month for each child. For children with disabilities, the subsidy is PLN 1260.
– During my campaign I emphasized that we would introduce free local government nurseries in Krakow. I am glad that this was realized. In addition, we invest in the quality of this offer. We will have 11 new nurseries, we will renovate one, it will give a total of over 1 thousand. places for children – says Aleksander Miszalski.
The new nurseries will be built by 2026. The facility on the estate will be renovated. Willowy 2, which will increase the number of places by over 33 percent. Investments will be concentrated in districts, in which the demand for care for the youngest is the largest, as well as in areas where there is a lack of city nurseries. To ensure their financing, the city uses, among others From the government program, an active toddler from the funds of the National Plan of Rebuilding and Increased immunity.
The government’s active playgrounds 2025 are also implemented in Krakow. Six local government nurseries received financing for this purpose from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy. The City Hall requested PLN 1,375,676.41 and this amount was granted. The money will be allocated to the renovation of playgrounds in nurseries: No. 19 at ul. Świtezianki 7, No. 21 at ul. 3, no. 24 at ul. Opolska 11, No. 25 at ul. Ehrenberga 3, No. 28 at ul. Kurczaba 21, No. 32 at ul. Wymychów 47.
