Summer days coming up to 26 degrees, department stores and catering industry for (interior)

It is just a little fresh and rainy, but from Friday it gets better and we are heading for outright summer weather. Next week the mercury even raises even smoothly to 26 degrees, with plenty of sun. Department stores prepare for a first rush on barbecue meat.
April 2025 will undoubtedly be in the top five of the most sunny April months since the start of the observations. With the last days of the month as icing on the cake, because it will be summer, says Weerman Frank Deboosere with a broad smile.
Thursday, today, the weather is still on the fresh side and the room can still drip. But from Friday the raincoats are allowed in the cupboard for a while. Because we will not need that for the time being. On Friday we will start a dry period, but with a chance of tall clouds and 16 to 17 degrees what the normal maxima are for the time of the year. « But from then on things are going up again. On Saturday and Sunday there are still some stacking clouds, but it will certainly remain dry and we are going to a pleasant 20 degrees on Saturday and Sunday we may already be about that, » says our weatherman.
Next week it will be really summery. « On Monday we easily get the 22 degrees, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we even go quickly to the 25 or 26 degrees. Very nice spring weather with a summer feeling, » says Frank Deboosere. So get that sun cream up because it will be necessary.

Don’t swim yet
It will be terrace weather and ideal for barbecuing or going to the sea. Because for many there is an extended weekend next week. On the coast they expect a top weekend from 1 to 4 May. However, swimming is not allowed yet, except in Knokke-Heist. There, the first guarded zones will open in Heist-Centrum, Albertstrand and Knokke Center on 1 May. Department stores provide an extra load of barbecue meat, according to a survey. And the hospitality industry is also preparing by calling in extra staff.
Where does that summer weather come from at the beginning of May? « It is not a special phenomenon. We are just lucky. Or look at it differently: nature is out of luck that it has rained so little in recent weeks, » concludes Frank Deboosere. Because the rain that fell this week is not nearly enough to compensate for the past dry weeks.
