The pride of Neveroni

The inhabitants of Neveronys also have a hand -to -hand place where they can relax.

« We have one side of the pond. In the future we are planning to expand, » said Aldona Petkevičienė, Neveroniai elder.

Neveroniai ponds appeared in « Palemon ceramics » when digging and carrying clay. Eventually, the ponds were shrugged by the shrubs. The community planned to clean the coast. With no shrubs left, the view opened, the coastal further management and adaptation project for public needs. It was funded by the EU and Kaunas District Municipality.

Neveroniai ponds and the recreational area of ​​them filled the recreation area in this eldership.

The quality of water and sand in all bathing areas is excellent, which is confirmed by laboratory microbiological water and beach sand parasitological research.

« We have no parks. When the greenhouses were formed, residential houses were built, there was no leisure space for children or adults. There was not even a place where it could be just to come, sit down, rest. Residents expressed their desire to set up a bathing place. » There is also a scooter track, children’s playground, benches.

The access to Neveroniai ponds also became a place for outdoor events and gatherings. This is where the traditional event « Water Symphony » is intertwined with verse, modern classical music, dance, fine art.

In the future, it is planned that the pedestrian trail with lighting will surround the entire pond. The elder was delighted with the activity and initiatives of the community.

There is a parking lot near Neveroniai pond, food wagons, paths, outdoor terrace, lighting, hill routes for bikes and scooters, other leisure and wellness infrastructure, benches, WC.

The bicycle path is very popular. It is used by both local and travelers. The ferry moves through the Nemunas and continues to minimize the bicycle path. In the summer, a quarry in Kulautuva is important, and without it Kulautuva is hard to imagine, just like without the Nemunas. In the past, the beaches were operating on the banks of the river, but at the moment Panemunė in Kulautuva with all the shrubs and grasses is an important territory of the European ecological network Natura 2000.

The left side of the Nemunas is less overgrown, so Zapyškians, Kačergin Citizen, have their beaches near the Nemunas. Batniava elder Šarūnas Pikelis, together with the community, set up a beach near the QuaS quarry. This year, its infrastructure was improved with pontoon links.

Ideas – from communities

The local community has also made efforts to overcome the coastline of the water bodies.

The Raudondvaris presented the project with a ledge and a recreation area « The Best Place for Recreation – Raudondvaris! ». This idea has won funding this year. The pond accesses will be managed, a comfortable, safe and cozy recreation area with greenery, specially designed spaces for yogis, air yogis and functional exercise with belts, and a long ledge-takas that could be used safely and conveniently by modelers.

In the village of Brūžė (Batniava eldership), an artist’s idea was received, which was aimed at setting up a unique resort on the Nemunas coast. The other side of the river also creates recreational ideas. The Zapyškis community would like to set up a children’s playground, Kačerginė eldership – a sports field. In Užliedžiai, it is intended to overcome the space near the pond by installing a volleyball court and small architecture facilities.

The municipality finances and implements the most supporting ideas.

In Vandžiogala, as many as three ideas were provided at the Park Pond to obtain financing the participant budget. In Samyl and Rokas elderships, residents offered to install fountains, bridges and resorts near water bodies.

Raudondvaris community has been won by the third year (a skateboard ramp, which has been opened on April 16, 2022, a children’s playground opened on April 16, 2025).

A. Tamonienė noted that during the five years of the budget implementation of the participant, it was revealed that the most important is the size of the eldership, but the initiative and cooperation of the people.

One of the smaller elderships in Kaunas district is particularly active, Vandžiogala, whose community has already accompanied the ideas of the community four times.

« Strong and enterprising communities also operate in Neveronys, Alšėnai, Čekiškės, Domeikava, Kulautuva elderships – the list can be continued. When it comes to initiatives to water bodies, it is worth noting that the community is active not only in the budget of the participant. For example, last year There is a coastal obstacle course with a playground, volleyball and Petankee Square, fireplaces with benches and tables, ”she said.

Elders are also active in the Neveroniai eldership – they organize talc, especially in the field of pond accesses and contribute to the environment.
