Fraud
On March 4, a woman living in Narva received a call from a person who introduced himself as an employee Elektrilevi, who said that her house needs to be replaced by an electric meter. To do this, she asked her personal code. After transferring the data, the woman received the next call – this time supposedly from the representative of Swedbank. Following the instructions of the caller, she installed the Rustdesk program on her computer, through which scammers gained access to her bank accounts.
In her name, a new bank account was opened abroad, where the money was immediately transferred, and also issued loans. Then the woman was convinced to withdraw cash from her account and send them together with a bank card through the postam to a stranger. She later found that additional amounts were also withdrawn from her card. As a result, the woman lost 20 050 euros.
Gross violations of public order
On March 9, the police received a message that in Narva-Yesuu, a 30-year-old man waved a knife near the bus stop. The people who were waiting for the bus were scared and fled. The suspect was detained.
On March 7, the police left for Kokhtla-Yarva, where a 32-year-old man threatened the surrounding knife. He was detained on suspicion of a crime. As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
