It promises to be a sultry Saturday with temperatures up to 27 degrees in the interior. In the afternoon and evening the chance of thunderstorms increases. Especially south of Sambre and Maas there can be a lot of precipitation in a short time with potential gusts and hail. « Use your common sense if there is a thunderstorm in the air, » said Frank Deboosere.
After the disappearance of the morning gray, it is cloudy on Saturday. It is warm and sultry with maxima up to 22 degrees by the sea and up to 27 degrees in the interior. Apart from a local mood it stays dry, but in the afternoon and evening, showers can develop from the south that move north, writes Noodweer Benelux.
« The Benelux is today in a warm and moist air mass, led from the south. This air species is unstable, which means that not much is needed to create showers. They can be accompanied by thunder, hail and gusts of wind. »
Warning
« In our country there is mainly a thunderstorm in the air south of Samber and Maas, » says Weerman Frank Deboosere. « The more you go towards the coast, the smaller the chance of thunderstorms. But experience teaches us that with a thunderstorm you always have to keep a blow. »
The exact location and intensity of the showers are therefore difficult to predict according to the weather experts. « It’s looking for coffee grounds. All we can do is send a warning for a region and indicate an opportunity, but we don’t have absolute certainty. »
« If there is a thunderstorm in the air, use your common sense and go inside or hide in your car, » says Deboosere. « Do not stand under a tree and pull the plugs out of the socket. With a thunderstorm it is not the time to crawl on your roof. »
Temperature drops
The temperature will fall again from Sunday. The maxima are between 18 and 19 degrees by the sea and 22 degrees in the Kempen. On Sunday morning the RMI expects many clouds with a few showers and possibly a thunderbolt. In the afternoon it becomes predominantly dry with wide clearings from the west.
On Monday we get a variety of clearings and cloud fields with a few showers locally. The maxima are between 16 and 20 degrees. Belga, own reporting, bad weather
