Success for Gabriela Ruse, at Rouen
Romanian tennis player Gabriela Ruse has qualified in the finals of the WTA 250 tournament in Rouen (France), equipped with total prizes of 239,212 euros, on Monday, after having French Elsa Jacquemot, with 1-6. 6-1, 6-4.
Ruse (27 years, 90 WTA) needed almost two hours of play (1 h 50 min) to win its first confrontation with Jacquemot (21 years, 143 WTA).
Gabriela Ruse has secured a check of 3,624 euros and 30 WTA points, and will face the winner between the Italian player Camilla Rosatello and the American Alycia Parks, the sixth favorite.
On the main simple painting is a Romanian, Jaqueline Cristian, who will play in the first round against the French Diane Parry.
In the double, in the first round, Jaqueline Cristian and Italian Angelica Moratelli qualified in the quarterfinals, after 6-4, 7-6 (8/6) with the French Tiphanie Lemare/Margaux Rouvroy, after one hour and 50 minutes.
Cristian and Moratelli were led in the first round with 4-1, and in the second round with 3-0 and 5-3, and in the tiebreak they were driven by 5-1 and saved two set balls.
Jaqueline Cristian and Angelica Moratelli secured a CEC of 2,210 euros and 54 WTA points.
Gabriela Ruse is a double pair with American Bernarda Pera, the two to face the British Eden Silva and the Belgian Kimberley Zimmermann.
