The federal capital significantly overfilled the quotes agreed between the federal states to supply refugees.

Vienna is particularly challenged when looking after refugees. This is shown by a current request for request from the Ministry of the Interior. According to this, the federal capital fulfilled the quotes agreed between the federal states to supply refugees at the beginning of the year with 208 percent. One factor here is subsidiary protection persons who live for the greatest part in the capital. The figures requested by the ÖVP relate to the beginning of January. At that time, a good 68,000 people still lived in basic care, including around 31,000 in Vienna.

The differences between the individual refugee groups are interesting. Because when it comes to asylum seekers, the numbers in Vienna are even low. At the beginning of the year, only 7.5 percent of the asylum seekers in the federal capital were, although they are primarily target group of this care. For comparison: 48.5 percent of the beneficiaries in Tyrol were asylum seekers, 47 percent in Upper Austria.

In January in Vienna, a good 2300 asylum seekers from almost 13,200 people in this group were counted in Vienna. That is almost 18 percent. The distribution looks very different when you look at the subsidiary beneficiaries. Here it had to be looked after a good 13,100 people, but 11,000 of whom lived in Vienna. That corresponded to a quota of 84 percent. One of the reasons could be that for you in Vienna (as in Tyrol) a higher performance is paid out.

Subsidiator users are understood to mean people who are not at risk of personal persecution in the country of origin, whose life or health at home is still threatened. This group receives temporary protection, but has fewer rights than asylum persons, for example in family reunification. In recent years, Syrians or Afghans have always been the largest group of subsidiary beneficiaries.

Subsidiator persons remain the longest in Vorarlberg

Vorarlberg is at the top when it comes to the length of stay of these refugees. According to response, an average of 814 days are supplied there. Vienna follows behind with 758 days. In all other federal states, the length of stay is significantly lower, the shortest in Tyrol with 201 days.

Asylum entitlements also have a few months after the protection status is recognized to remain in basic care. On average, they stay in Styria with 68 days in Styria. It is also around two months in Vienna (65) and Vorarlberg (62). In terms of numbers, this group is of course only in Vienna, where at the beginning of the year almost 75 percent of those affected (a good 1700 of around 2300 people) were supplied.

Ukrainian largest group

The largest group in basic services represent displaced persons from Ukraine, who make up the clear majority of those to be cared for in some federal states. In Burgenland, 1,890 beneficiaries were 1,434 Ukrainians. There were three quarters of the Ukrainians supervised in Styria. Almost 39 percent of those displaced by Russian aggression are housed in Vienna, a comparatively average value. They make up almost 46 percent among the Viennese benefits.

The accommodation of the basic supplies is remedied unchanged. While the other federal states mostly rely on organized quarters, Vienna supports primarily privately housed. At the beginning of the year, 83 percent of those in Vienna had accomplished privately in Vienna. Otherwise there is only a federal state in Lower Austria, where a majority did without organized care. The situation was different in Upper Austria, for example, where only a quarter was cared for privately. (APA)
