Stunning Pyongyang Moscow Military Assistance – What will Kim Jong Un will have?

New disclosures of international observers show that North Korea has become a key military supporter of Russia in the last year in its three -year aggression for Ukraine. Reported by the report to be published Multilateral sanction monitoring group (MSMT), expands the dimension of cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow, which includes shipments of millions of pieces of ammunition, at least a hundred ballistic missiles and thousands of soldiers sent to the Russian side of the front. According to the findings of the report, this support enables Moscow to « terrorize » the Ukrainian population and destroy the key civil infrastructure.

The MSMT Group, the initiative of eleven United Nations – the US, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan and South Korea – was established after Russia was blackmailed by the dissolution of the previous UN experts, which controlled the implementation of North Korea’s sanctions due to its nuclear program. The first report of the new group is a picture of a gloomy image of illegal cooperation, which goes far beyond occasional shipments.

Millions of charges and rockets over Ukrainian cities

According to MSMT, the scope of North Korean military assistance is very extensive. In 2024 alone, Pyongyang Moscow is expected to send as many as nine million pieces of artillery ammunition and other ammunition. Some sources state that more than 20,000 military equipment containers have been transported since September 2023. In addition, North Korea was expected to refer more than 11,000 troops to Russia last year, and an additional 3,000 in the first months of this year. According to some estimates, the total number of North Korean soldiers sent to the battle rose up to 12,000.

The list of equipment supplied also includes rocket, various vehicles, self -propelled howlings and other types of heavy artillery. Particularly worrying is the discovery that North Korea has supplied Russia at least 100 ballistic missiles. These rockets were, as MSMT points out, « later fired at Ukraine with the aim of destroying civil infrastructure and terrorizing inhabited areas such as Kiev and Zaporož. » A report referring to participating Member States and evidence of the British non -profit center for open source sources (OSC) and Research Organizations Conflict Armament Research (Car) states that this « illegal cooperation between North Korea and Russia contributed to the capacity of Moscow to strengthen its missile attacks on Ukrainian cities infrastructure. «

What does Pyongyang receive in return?

However, cooperation is by no means one -way. In return for extensive military assistance, Russia provides extremely valuable military equipment and technology. The MSMT report states that Pyongyang received advanced air defense equipment, anti -aircraft rocket, electronic warfare systems and urgently needed refined oil fuels, whose imports are strictly limited by UN sanctions.

More importantly, Moscow with Pyongyang shares data on the operation of North Korean ballistic missiles on the Ukrainian battlefield. According to the report, this feedback has helped to « improve the management of rockets » of the regime Kim jong una. Such an exchange allows North Korea to « finance its military programs and further develop its ballistic missiles, which are in itself prohibited by several UN Security Council resolutions, and gains direct experience in modern warfare, » the report further notes.

Sanctions and international conviction

Both Russia and North Korea, through their behavior, clearly violate the UN embargo on weapons and numerous resolutions of the security world. The MSMT report accuses both countries of carrying weapons and military equipment through actors and networks that avoid international sanctions. A group of eleven countries forming MSMT called North Korea in a joint statement to « get involved in a meaningful diplomacy. »

Western governments are increasingly concerned about the long -term consequences of what is manifested as a deepening of the strategic partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang. In recent months, the United States has warned that Russia could convey advanced space and satellite technology in exchange for further support in the war in Ukraine.

Official denials and a solid commitment of cooperation

Despite numerous and compelling evidence, both countries have persistently denied that Pyongyang Moscow supplied weapons. However, in June last year they are Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a groundbreaking agreement on comprehensive strategic partnership. This pact obliges both countries to provide immediate military assistance in the event of an attack on one of them.

In April this year, Putin publicly admitted that North Korean soldiers participated in the fighting for the return of Russian territory after the Ukrainian invasion of the Kursk region last year. Shortly afterwards, North Korea also confirmed the presence of its units in the area for the first time. Although North Korean soldiers in Kursk have been installed at least November last year, according to Ukrainian officials, according to Ukrainian officials, according to Ukrainian officials.

Putin also warned that Russia would start arming Pyongyang if the West continues with the armaments of Ukraine. This statement came at a time when some Western allies of Ukraine have mitigated the ban on the use of their dalekomet weapons for goals within Russia, especially after the escalation of Russian air strikes to Ukrainian cities.

The gloomy future of cooperation

The MSMT report concludes with the dark announcement that North Korea and Russia « will probably continue at least in the near future and further deepen their military cooperation in contravention of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council. » This finding indicates that the flow of weapons and soldiers will probably continue to run, which will further devise the conflict in Ukraine and pose a serious threat to international peace and the efforts to non -drill weapons. The consequences of this alliance will undoubtedly be sensual for a long time, both on Ukrainian soil and in the wider international community.
