Students of the High School for Educators in Novi Sad against online teaching: We are ready to talk to the director, but he does not want to – society

Director Bojan Milosevic said for today that students did not participate In making a decision on introducing online teaching because, they did not want to choose their representatives in the Student Parliament during the blockade.

– The Student Parliament existed, but due to objective circumstances, there was not possible to organize new elections within the scheduled deadline. Despite this, students could be invited to participate in the decision-making process, either through plenums, working groups or other forms of collective action. We believe that the dialogue is necessary and that students participate in the decision-making process is essential – students said.

They notice that they still stayed without answering important issues filled those, why there are no exercises in the published schedule and how will they be compensated?

Like why in the official planning of teaching, after the winter semester, a January examination period was provided, as well as the certification of the winter semester?

They remind the last opportunity to take the exam from the summer semester of the previous school year and is questioned the possibility of attending cases in the summer semester that they take exams to meet the conditions for the subscription of subsequent cases in January.

– How to respect the condition between cases, ie the impossibility of taking certain cases, the right to the next time, and the potential loss of years of age for students who have not been able to pass the exams within the scheduled period – continue further.

Students demand that the information was submitted whether the school sought and received the approval of the competent institutions for omitting January examination.

– Why does the summer semester build directly on winter without prior certification of the winter semester? How will Master students who are employed in that period use a legal vacation (from 13. June) able to compensate for classes? Did teachers past training for online teaching and did they get directions how to shorten the material and choose the most important content? Why perform individual theoretical objects without the title of professor and is it in line with the standards and accreditation of the study program? We seek that a valid study program for online teaching and changes, if a change in relation to the regular program has occurred.

Also, students point out that the director, through the official website of the school, sent an invitation to maintain a joint meeting with the aim of finding a solution for this situation.

The students reacted positively to this proposal, however, after that, a further response was followed by the director.

– On the School site, a notice is asked that students are certified by Semstar. The current certification of the semester performed in the school is also not in accordance with the law. In some cases, we only compensated the theoretical part of class, while other activities, such exercises, works, predisive obligations, is absent, which means that we do not collected all the pre-exam points – students said.
