Students in the country within the scope of Erasmus visited the Municipality of Famagusta – Cyprus Newspaper

Project coordinators and students visited the Municipality of Famagusta within the scope of the student exchange activities of Erasmus school students conducted between Şcoala Gimnaziala Radu Cel Mare Secondary School and Famagusta Turkish Maarif College (GMTMK) in Gashti, Romania.

According to the statement made by the municipality, during the visit with the Vice President of Famagusta Hüseyin Manik, the participants met with the historical texture of Famagusta, cultural heritage and sociocultural structure.

Vice President Manik, drawing attention to the multi -layered history and cultural richness of the city, emphasized the importance of such interactions between students.

Project Coordinators GMTMK Biology Teacher Filiz AŞAN and Radu Cel Mare Middle School Teacher Andra Onei said that the main purpose of the project is to provide cultural fusion between countries and to realize various activities to prevent this problem by drawing attention to peer bullying.

The visit is also important in terms of being the first Erasmus project carried out within the scope of schools in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Thanks to the project, it is aimed to introduce Famagusta on the international platform and to develop the skills of students to express themselves in different cultures.

Mehmet Erim, Director of Turkish Maarif College, was also thanked for their support.
