A 24-year-old student of medicine has been found guilty of the rape of a fellow student, but will not receive a punishment for the time being. « He is a talented and committed person, both private and professional, » the judge said.
It should have been a nice night out for a student, who was in particular evening of November 8, 2023. She had agreed with girlfriends to go to a Halloween party. Together they also drank a beer in advance and in café Recup, but then suddenly the light went completely.

Whether the woman was drugged or not, is still unclear today. « It is certain that she was suddenly completely completely off the map, » her lawyer argued during the session in March. « She stumbled, could no longer stand on her own two feet and needed support not to fall on the floor. »
Benefited from drunk state
For the Fakbar, the girl then came across RV (24), a student of medicine. He suggested that she walked with him and together they went to his room. The two had sex there. « He benefited from her drunken state to celebrate his sexual lust, » the attorney said during the session. « He claimed that he protected her by taking care of her and taking her with him, but then set sexual acts himself. »
« It has been proven that sexual relations took place at the time, » the judge now said in her judgment. « This while it was impossible in a situation to agree. Those facts are serious and unacceptable. »
Criminal record
RV risked three years in prison, with probation delay. But that would be a problem for the student because he would not find a work in medicine with a criminal record. He therefore asked the suspension.
The judge now ruled that the suspension is an appropriate punishment. « It is undeniable that he has overwritten the limits of the permissible, » she said. « But he is still young and has a blank criminal record. He is also a talented and committed person professionally and private. »
RV will not receive a punishment for the time being, should not go to jail and will not be given any probation conditions. The victim asked for compensation of 9,800 euros, but received only 3,500 euros from the court. She had also asked for a contact ban, but that was not pronounced.
