Sts is waiting for the Romanians in Cotroceni
The gates of the Cotroceni Palace will be opened for the public again, this time the turn of the special telecommunications service to delight the big and small visitors.
From Friday to Sunday, STS has prepared interactive activities for children and adults, an exhibition of special vehicles and technique of special telecommunications, calls for the unique number 112, testing of applications and computer systems used in elections, cyber security workshops and blockchain, VR experiences, Quantum Key Distribution networks, Virtual Polgon.
According to a statement sent to AGERPRES, visitors will be able to discover the technology used by STS to support the electoral processes and to ensure the functioning of the essential communications and IT infrastructures used by the Romanian state.
Thus, the applications and computer systems made available to the Permanent Electoral Authority, the organizer of the Romanian electoral processes will be presented, and detailed information on the technical and operational role of the Special Telecommunications Service in organizing and carrying out the polls.
At the same time, special telecommunications equipment will be exhibited, used to ensure communications and protect them in critical situations and within the missions of national interest.
Those interested will be able to interact directly with the STS engineers and specialists who have prepared short demonstrations and will provide explanations about how these IT&C systems.
Another attraction will be the area dedicated to the Emergency Service 112. Here, the participants will be able to see, in real time, how emergency calls are taken and processed and will have the opportunity to meet the operators acting in situations, in support of citizens.
On this occasion, STS will also present the project of the new mobile application for emergency calls, capable of taking video calls.
Another surprise prepared to visitors is the unique experience in the virtual polygon, one of the modern military training tools.
The little ones will have interactive workshops at stand 112, robotics games and useful tips to safely navigate in the online environment.

The access of the public to the event « Open doors at the Cotroceni Palace » will be made from the boulevard doctor Gheorghe Marinescu, and the program will be in each of the three days (Friday – Sunday) from 10:00 to 18:00.
