Stormloop again during the sale of Casa in Ghent and Turnhout: « left at 5 am » (inland)
Interior and decorative store Casa applied for the bankruptcy in March. As a result, 63 stores and the distribution center and the headquarters in Olen close. In the aftermath of this, the curators decided to sell the stores. For many lovers of Casa products, the bankruptcy of the chain is an ideal way to make bargains. That previously caused long queues at the branches of Ostend, Bruges and Mechelen, among others. On Friday it is the turn of the stores in Ghent and Turnhout and there were also very long lines there.

In Turnhout, the first buyers were very early. « We left for Turnhout this morning at 6 am. We hope to be able to find a chair for Dad, » says Hendrik, a young man from Duffel.
« My son gets a percent, » laughs his mom. « After our visit to the Casa I promised him to pass by a Lego shop in the neighborhood. Hendrik wants a car from the new Formula 1 set of LEGO. Mama sponsors, but for what hears what. »

Many people dive away when photographer Bert brings out his device. « We work in prison, » say two cheerful young ladies. « Our customers do not need to know that we are going to the Casa. » Limme from Wuustwezel also does not want to be photographed, although she is the first to be at the shop door. « We have a chair in mind, » she says.
« That is why we already left for Turnhout this morning at 5 o’clock. Maybe I will find more nice things here. A blanket, some pillows. Wait two more hours! »
Also in Ghent the sale was a success before the store on the Korenmarkt opened. The first customers arrived at 6 o’clock in the morning. There was already a very long queue, all the way to the Sint-Niklaas church.

Inge van Regemorter and Ann Neirynck have been there since 8.20 am. They are looking for a tablecloth. « It’s actually for my niece, » says Inge. « She is on vacation and asked me to take a look at the Casa. When I saw the news in the beginning of the week what a rush it was in other cities, I wondered why I had said » yes « on it (laughs). »
