Storm alerts for Poland. Podkarpacie particularly threatened
IMGW forecasts dangerous storms in most of the country on Sunday. Heavy rains, gusty wind and local hail precipitation are expected. Residents of the province should be particularly careful. Podkarpackie, where second -cycle warnings apply. Variable weather related to the lowlands from Scandinavia brings a stormy aura, which has not forgiven for several days.

The weekend aura will be marked by fleeting rainfall and storms. The warmest will be in the southeast, where the tropical air is maintained. The most intense phenomena will also occur there.

IMGW warns against dangerous phenomena that can lead to material damage and pose a threat to health and life. The Institute recommends tracking weather messages and being particularly careful, especially in the areas covered by the alerts.
Sunday will bring a lot of closure with clearness in the evening. Precipitation up to 30 mm in the south -east and wind to 90 km/h during storms are forecasted. Night from Sunday to Monday will be associated with further rainfall, and in the Tatra Mountains possible rains with snow.
Podkarpacie with the highest degree of threat
In the Podkarpackie Voivodeship IMGW He introduced second -degree alerts. They apply, among others in the Jarosław, Przemyśl and Bieszczady poviats. Storms can be accompanied by heavy rains (up to 40 mm), strong wind gusts and hail.
On Saturday, firefighters intervened over 800 times, mainly when removing broken trees and pumping water. One person was injured in Radom when a branch fell on the car. A similar number of events is possible on Sunday.
Warnings for other voivodships
In addition to Podkarpacie, IMGW introduced first degree warnings in 11 provinces. They concern, among others Pomerania, Greater Poland, Lower Silesia and the surrounding area of Łódź. In these areas, storms can bring rains up to 20 mm and wind up to 85 km/h.

Alerts are valid from 12:00 to 22:00. It is recommended to avoid open spaces, secure objects and park cars away from trees. « Warnings are associated with the risk of life and health -threatening phenomena, » reminds IMGW.
