The bust of Jim Morrison, who was stolen in 1988 from the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris, was found in Paris by accident. During a house search in the context of a fraud case, the statue was found by the police.

The image of the iconic singer of The Doors was stolen 37 years ago from the Paris cemetery. The bust was made on the occasion of the tenth day of death of Morrison by Croatian artist Mikulin.

It was the anti-corruption department of the Paris police who found the statue during a house search. According to RTL Radio and AFP, this happened by accident during a house search in the context of a fraud case of the Paris public prosecutor’s office.

Jim Morrison was the lead singer of rock band The Doors, who was active from 1965 to 1973. He died in July 1971 in Paris, at the age of 27. This includes the Mythical ’27 Club ‘, which also includes Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Jimi Hendrix. According to the official version, he died of heart failure in his bathtub. In recent years, a different story has emerged: journalist and writer Sam Bernett claims in his books that the iconic singer took an overdose of drugs in the toilets of the Rock’n’roll Circus, a night club in Paris.
