The city building office is expected to sign and return the contract within ten working days.
– We definitely do not intend to do that, it is contrary to everything we stand for. They should withdraw these weirdness, says Jan Valeskog.
It is the embassy that has benefit Of the City of Stockholm, not the other way around, he believes.
– If the United States terminates the acquaintance with the city building office, the embassy will find it difficult to get building permits if, for example, they want to rebuild. It’s their headache, not ours, says Valeskog.
Building permits are required, according to Boverket, for new construction, extension and some changes to the outer appearance of buildings.

Then the Embassy responded in an email to DN that « the US missions are reviewing contracts and grants to ensure that they are consistent with the White House’s latest executive order ».
