State Reception of the Embassy of Russia in Macedonia for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day over Fascism
The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Macedonia yesterday organized a state reception in Skopje on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day over Fascism.
-Today in the West they are trying to falsify the facts about the events of that period. The truth is that the main blow of the Nazi Germany and its aides suffered from the Soviet Union and its multinational people from all federal republics, and the myth of the invincibility of German military machinery has broken the Red Army. The peoples of the Soviet Union won together. No one will be able to belittle our feat, nor divide it into individual victories – Russian Ambassador Sergei Bazdnikin said in his speech.
-We have not only defended the independence and sovereignty of our country. In difficult battles we have released the peoples of Europe, whose independence today is a direct consequence of the self -sacrifice of Soviet soldiers and officers who have suffered numerous casualties – more than a million lives. We will guard the bright memory of the heroic ancestors, but we will also be proud of our soldiers and officers – heirs of the winners’ generation. In the fight against Nazism, the allies in the Antihitler coalition, members of the Partisan Movement, fought with us. We bow down to the courage of the participants in the National Liberation Struggle in Macedonia, the fighters of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia, of Chinese soldiers during the fight against Japanese militarism – said Bazdikin, among other things.
The event was attended by the Archbishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric Stefan, Metropolitan of Tetovo-Gostivar Bishop Joseph, Bishop of Heraclean Bishop Clement, Vice President of Government, Inter-Community Minister Ivan Stoilkovic, MPs of Parliament Recep Ismail Shaktan, Jovana Mojsko Fatih Ulusoy, Kazakhstan Ambassador Satibaldi Burshakov, Acting Ambassador of China to Macedonia Su Lei, the military attaché of China’s Embassy Colonel CZU NIN, the Honorary Consul of Russia, Media, as well as activists of the Macedonian-Russian friendship associations.
