State Police have finalized 99 operations in May, 625 arrested

In a press release, police say that during this period they have done intense work, in coordination with international partners and local law enforcement agencies, with the aim of arresting citizens with social risk and cracking high -impact criminal phenomena, such as illegal weapons and narcotics cultivation/trafficking.

In addition to police actions, during May, police officers were maximally engaged, in many dimensions of order guarantee, during great and direct activities in the country’s image, such as: international Giro D’Italia race; elections for the Albanian Parliament; Summit of the European political community; 82nd cycling mug.

During this month, 99 police operations were finalized; 34 International Police Operations; 625 suspected criminal offenses were arrested; 50 firearms and significant amounts of combat ammunition were seized; about 84 kilograms of cannabis, hundreds of doses of this substance and cocaine narcotics, as well as 2861 cannabis seeds; money and assets with dubious criminal resources in total value of about 415,000 euros, smuggled goods, bullets, silencers, documents and fake money.

They have also been destroyed in the framework of the national mega -operation codename « Coordinate », 8269 cannabis plants/seedlings; In Tirana and Shkodra, during the 3 operations, 13 citizens were arrested, who, organized as a group or individually, trafficked or sold weapons on behalf of criminal groups.

Whereas the operational and operational work of the Durres Police and the Directorate of Special Operations Force led to 7 citizens (3 of them with high social risk), who stayed together in a restaurant, with firearms ready for shooting.

Vlora District Police have assisted in 4 cases, foreign and Albanian nationals who were in difficulty as a result of the terrain and/or weather conditions; have been dealt with, in cooperation with other competent institutions, 181 cases of domestic violence and 217 crimes against the environment.

Traffic police, with the fleet of intelligent equipment available has continuously monitored road axes, with the major objective: road safety.

Police report that, in handcuffs, 155 drivers were put in handcuffs, of which: 107 for driving; 48 For driving without driving licenses.

While 191 driving licenses have been suspended for exceeding speed rates, driving under the influence of alcohol and other violations of the Road Code, for which this measure is provided.

In May, 12440 administrative measures for speed above the permitted rate were set, with sanction the suspension of the driving license; Cases for which drivers have paid twice the maximum fine and have been penalized with a deduction of 6 to 12 points from the driving license.

The border police have drafted and implemented special risk analyzes and conducted intensive checks on citizens and vehicles to prevent and hit the border crimes.

50 cases of illegal border crossings, 22 cases of attempted borders with false documents and 6 cases of motor vehicles have been identified and hit at the border crossing points.
