State is starting to repair eight regional tracks for 220 million euros

BRATISLAVA. The state is launching the reconstruction of eight regional lines financed from the renewal plan of EUR 220 million.
This was stated on Wednesday at a press conference Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž and CEO of Railways of the Slovak Republic (ŽSR) Ivan Bednárik.
« Today, we are launching a reconstruction of eight tracks that will be across Slovakia. Together these reconstructions will be for EUR 220 million and are fully funded by the renewal plan, » the Minister of Transport said.
According to Ráža, this money was prepared for the reconstruction of the so -called. Upper, but they will also change voltage cables, bridges or platforms will be reconstructed.
« So these are very important sources that railway lines in Slovakia really need very much in the regions, » Raž underlined.
« If we want to get people gradually into public transport, we need it to be reliable to go on time, to walk quickly and have the highest possible comfort as possible. This is the next step in this direction.
According to Bednárik, money from the renewal plan is only one part of the resources that finance the railway infrastructure.
“The total scope of the investment from the renewal plan is 518 to 527 million euros, it is 12 projects. We talk about eight because they are currently on the table and will be completed or started procurement. We have Deadline on June 30, 2026, ”added Bednárik.
« In addition, we have invested large resources from other operational programs, and this is the so -called Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), where we have invested EUR 500 million to date and we are heading to draw 1.6 billion euros, » added ŽSR CEO.
