Started on the first bridge built over Prut in the past 60
Several hundred people, along with officials from Romania, were on Saturday, in the Republic of Moldova, to take part in the work of the first road bridge over the Prut River for the last 60 years-the Ungheni Bridge, entitled « Flower Bridge ». The action was not lacking in electoral.
In the special train that left the Iași station, the Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu, the ministers Mircea Fechet and Sebastian Burduja, the Secretaries of State Irinel Scrioșteanu, Silviu Macovei and Diana Baciuna, the leaders of the Iasi branches of the PSD and PNL, the deputies of Bogdan Cojocaru and Alexandru Muraru Muraru Muraru, Iași, Costel Alexe, Mayor of Iași, Mihai Chirica, as well as the mayors Laurențiu Leurean (Roman), Dumitru Boroș (Bârlad), Constantin Toma (Buzău). The event was also attended by the candidate of the electoral alliance « Romania before », Crin Antonescu.
« We live a historical moment, the construction of the first bridge between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in the last six decades. The ‘Flower Bridge’ will ensure not only a road connection between our countries, but will unite communities, will bring people closer and will support the development of both sides of the Prut. Several hundred people climbed the special train that left the Iasi station.
In Ungheni, the Republic of Moldova, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, as well as other officials from Chisinau, together with local authorities and citizens, were present.
« The Flower Bridge », which will unite the town of Zagarancea from the Ungheni district, the Republic of Moldova, and the Golleești commune in Iași county, is part of the Union Highway (A8), which has a major role in the interconnection of the two national road networks, the Târgu Mureș – Iași – Ungheni Highway and the Future 2030.
The « Flower Bridge » is the first road bridge built over the Prut River for the last 60 years. It is also one of the four new bridges over Prut established for execution, for which there is already the design and execution contract signed last fall.
