Preparations for the monitoring air campaign for 2025 against the cultivation of narcotic plants begin.

Director General of State Police, major leader Ilir Proda, held today a meeting with a high delegation of the Italian Interior Ministry, headed by the Commander of the Third Guardia Di Finanza General Command Operations Department, Brigadier General Luigi Vinciguerra, Director of International Cooperation, Brigadier General GiamPo Tirana, Salvatore Gava, Representative of the Interiorze Liaison Office in Albania, Mr. Ferdinando Rucco, Commander of Guardia di Finanza in Durres, Lieutenant Colonel Francesco della Corte, expert of Guardia di Finanza, Lieutenant Colonel Giampiero Carrieri and representatives of the university consortium Benecon.

The meeting focused on coordination for the territory air monitoring campaign for 2025, as part of the joint efforts to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants. Concrete measures were discussed to intensify preventive actions and the use of advanced surveillance technologies.

The Director General praised close cooperation with the Italian authorities and stressed that the fight against cannabis cultivation remains an absolute priority. « Air monitoring, police intelligence and international cooperation are the key to shared success, » he said.

General Vinciguerra praised the commitment of the State Police and stressed that the results so far are the fruit of a strong partnership. He assured that Italian police and Guardia di Finanza will continue to support technical resources and expertise to increase the effectiveness of territory control.

Subsequently, the Italian delegation, together with the Director General of the State Police, inaugurated the laboratory for the processing of air monitoring data, which was set up by the Guardia di Finanza at the State Police premises.

The State Police remains committed to further strengthening preventive operations and to hit any attempt to cultivate narcotic plants.
