At the San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the makers of the series first confirmed that « Ironheart » was coming as a new MCU series. The original start date: at the Marvel phase 5 at the end of 2023. The announcement was not met. The final start date has now been determined. From June 24, 2025, the series will run in the USA Disney+. In Germany it is available a day later on June 25, 2025.

The main character of the series, Riri Williams, known as Ironheart, already appeared in « Black Panther: Wakanda Forever » and is supposed to take on the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the MCU. The shooting was completed at the end of 2022, but the series will not be published until 2025. The reason for the delay was the SAG-ATTRA-Sreichs 2023.

Action of « Ironheart »: What is the Marvel series about?

Beware of spoilers for Avengers: Endgame: The series builds on the following events: phase three of the MCU ended with an emotional climax when Avengers leader Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, sacrificed his life to save the world, as was shown in « Avengers: Endgame ».

Because Iron is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel universe, his footsteps are to be filled. Since the « multiverse saga » (phase four to six) focuses on the next generation of superheroes, the obvious answer is the question of how Iron Man will continue: he gets a successor.

His successor: a brilliant teen finder named Riri Williams. The series plays according to the events of « Black Panther: Wakanda Forever » and converts between technology and magic. Riri Williams returns to her hometown Chicago. She has a concept for building iron suits. In the implementation and persecution of her goals, she gets on the mysterious and also charming Parker Parker Robbins alias « The Hood ».

The main actress Dominique Thorne is an American actress who played one of the leading roles in « If Beale Street Could » (2018) as Shelia Hunt and in « Judas and the Black Messiah » (2021) as Judy Harmon. In « Black Panther: Wakanda Forever » she was also seen in the role of Riri Williams/Ironheart.
