Stanionis returned to Lithuania revealed: I felt broken
At a press conference on Tuesday, Eimantas Stanionis appeared with a longtime coach Vid Bruz. One of the most famous Lithuanian boxing coaches E. Stanionis has been coaching since he has come to the gym at the age of thirteen.
« We drove and wanted to win the fight, we felt a lot of support from supporters, society, it was very pleased and fun, » said Bružas and thanked all supporters for their support.
« It was a day that we didn’t meet all those expectations and lost that fight, » the coach said.
V. Bružas also spoke about the extensive decision of the coaches to stop the fight. Stanionis’ struggle for three belts after the sixth round was interrupted by Lithuanian coach Marvin Somodio. According to Mr Bruz, this solution was difficult.

« It is the duty of the coach to protect the boxer’s health. No one knows better at the athlete than the coach himself, » he said, adding that the opinions of both coaches – his own and Somodis – coincided.
V. Bružas said that E. Stanionis himself would not have made such a decision, so the initiative had to be taken.
The longtime coach of E. Stanionis also commented on the scores of the judges and said he thought all the rounds were not lost.
All three arbitrators – Mark Consentin, Glenn Feldman and Kevin Morgan – saw the undeniable lead after six rounds. According to their calculations, after six rounds, the score was 60:53 in favor of the American.
« Perhaps the sixth round showed that the effectiveness of Eimantas’ counteratatics fell. When you give the opponent to work on yourself and not answer, that advantage is emerging, » Bružas said.
« I think Eimantas was far from showing what he was capable of, » he said and assured that every such fight was just motivated.
After V. Bruz, E. Stanionis also commented on the career fight. Kaunas admitted that the fight was difficult emotionally.
Happy fighter is a dangerous fighter.
« It was not my hardest fight, I really had the heavier, but this fight was really difficult for me, » the boxer said, and admitted that he was looking forward to the arrival coach, and when he saw him, tears began to accumulate.
E. Stanionis confirmed the psychological state of a really long training camp in the US and during the fight itself. Lithuania became a real challenge for Lithuania to deal with his emotions, and the longing for the home could have put his foot in the fight.
« I felt bad psychologically, I felt broken, I don’t know why, » the athlete said and said that his land was actually healing, and when he went to Lithuania, he was very happy.
« Happy fighter is a dangerous fighter, » Stanionis, who spoke about a difficult phase, could not call himself a dangerous fighter. According to him, he should not have been in the ring that day.
« I got lost, I got on my knees, thinking I would be allowed to leave the round, » the fighter said and said he wanted to prove that he was feeling well and could still fight.
The athlete confessed that his daughter, who had to see the world soon, also influenced his emotions.
« We both had a mask and we lived until it all ended, » Stanionis said of our and wife Emilia’s fight.
True, Kaunas admitted that he had to listen to the coaches anyway. According to the athlete, he was advised to exercise less and more.

However, now returning to Lithuania, the boxer feels « a thousand times » better.
Asked about the fate of the World Boxing Organization (WBA) belt, Stanionis stated that he still had a belt. After the fight, E. Stanionis handed over his championship belt to J. Ennis, but later returned it. The American will be produced new.
« You may need to help in the basement, » the Lithuanian joked.
« The biggest dream is to fight in Lithuania, » he said of future plans, adding that he owes his fans. E. Stanionis also assured that the Los Angeles Olympics are not yet in his plans.
