Sports Minister Mischo: « An apology must come from the FLF! »

And Mischo didn’t hold back. The various incidents after the controversial nomination of Gerson Rodrigues were « a communicative disaster », he said-and meant not only the nomination, but also the exclusion of the Quotidien journalist from the « certainly well-intentioned press date » by Luc Holtz, statements by FLF President Paul Phillip, « I don’t like » and finally the « terrible » incidents in the stadium Match against Slovenia on Friday evening.

« Above all, I feel sorry for the women’s national team, whose historical qualifications in the B-League are now completely lost, » says Mischo. But it is even more regrettable that no excuse has come – neither of Rodrigues (« Just a posting, only God Can Judge Me, the absolute mockery! That is unacceptable! »), Nor from Holtz or Philipp. At the latest after the hard intervention of the security forces against protesters in the auditorium, there was now an excuse.

Luc Holtz, too, should have set a signal, according to the sports minister: « He should not have nominated Rodrigues for a long time. After all, these are currently friendly games. » Mischo announced that it will look for a conversation with those responsible for the FLF in the coming week, either by phone or personally in the ministry. « The FLF is the largest association in the country, so as a sports minister I cannot agree with something like that. » Overall, according to Mischo, this week was « a disaster » for the FLF.
