Sport card now also for adults Celje and Mariborians
A team of researchers from the Faculty of Sport in Ljubljana launched the largest scientific research on the physical capacity and health of adults Slovenes called Slofit Adults, as part of the national project Path to Adult. The goal is to include at least 1000 people between 30 and 65 years of age and to compare their current physical performance with childhood results obtained from sports-educational cardboard. In Ljubljana, where measurements are carried out three times a year, all dates are full of occupied and the response of the people of Ljubljana is exceptional, he says Robert Kereži. The measurements are now coming to Maribor and Celje for the first time.
Schedule of current measurements and links to application forms in Celje and Maribor:
- Maribor 14 June 2025, Poljane Athletic Stadium, from 9 – 12.30 am.

Ever wonder how physically prepared you are? Are you worried, are you still agile enough, strong and durable for everyday challenges? The answer can be found through the measurements of Slofit for adults and Slofit Senior, which allow for a free, safe and scientifically well -founded assessment of people’s physical capacity in all stages of life.
How healthy and fit would you be today if you knew what you know today today?
This is the starting question of a national scientific study Path to adulthood, led by the Slofit Research Group from the Faculty of Sport, University of Ljubljana. The project, which will last until 2027, is exploring how childhood physical capacity and life patterns on the path to adulthood affect the health and quality of life in mature years.
The study is based on a simple but powerful assumption: if we know our physical capacity from a young age, we can better understand what is happening with our body today, and above all – what we can do for better well -being and health in the future. Researchers want to include at least a thousand adults between the ages of 30 and 65 in the project, who, together with them, will explore links between movement, habits, health and well -being over the years. Historical data collected through a sports education card, known by many generations of Slovenes, will also play a key role. These will now be compared to new measurements made under the Slofit Adults program, also expanded for the elderly – Slofit Senior.
Measurements will take place in more than ten places across Slovenia, including Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Škofja Loka, Tolmin, Ptuj and Postojna. Participants will make free physical capacity measurements, with the results stored in their profile on the My Slofit app. This allows them to monitor progress, compare with peers, warnings for future measurements and access to professional recommendations. The data is also useful for doctors and coaches as they allow you to exercise safely.

Participants are not only measurements, but active co -creators of scientific insights. They work with their life stories, experience and opinions, participate in the development of research tools and are part of the online community where they will receive additional support and training. The data collected will allow a better understanding of the impact of movement, nutrition, sleep, spread and other long -term health habits and lay the foundations for professional recommendations and scientific publications.
Such long -term scientific studies are rare
With open access, protection of personal data and a clear social purpose, the Path to adulthood project represents one of the most amazing and at the same time the most inclusive research ventures in our country. At its center, we are not only numbers and measurements, but humans – with physical history, which is worthy of attention, understanding and common concerns.
Required prior application
The number of places is limited, so prior registration is mandatory.
It can be submitted to:
- [email protected] or.
- 040/760-032
When applying, it is imperative to communicate the age category: under 30, 30 to 65 years or older than 65 years.
It is one of the few examples of long-term scientific studies that explores the causal-effects of childhood and childhood health habits and emphasizes the importance of physical activity for mental and physical health, a healthy aging process, cognitive functions, reduction of stress and absenteeism, and greater productivity and quality of life.
Participants will have access to the My Slofit app, where they will be able to follow their progress, participate in workshops and contribute to the development of scientific tools. The data collected will be an important foundation for new insights on the health of Slovenes and the preparation of professional recommendations.
What can a person get through measurements and my Slofit app?
The answer of experts is: “Immediate insight into your physical capacity and possible health risks, personal recommendations that can be shared with a doctor or coach for safe exercise, comparison with peers in Slovenia, an annual reminder for regular monitoring of performance, prolonged monitoring of progress and health throughout their lives, the possibility of healthier age and less visits to physicians.
The duration of the measurements takes about an hour per person. Before measurements, it is recommended that a person register and create a profile in the My Slofit app on www.slofit.org.
