Spectacular scene in Sint-Truiden: Kraan Tilt Spits of Medieval Church (Sint-Truiden)
The Sint-Gangulfus church in the Diesterstraat in Sint-Truiden is the oldest church in the city. It was built in the eleventh century on behalf of Abbot Adelardus II (1055-1082) of the Sint-Trudo Abbey. The church probably replaced an older church structure. Traces of this were discovered during the last restoration.

Moisture
For the restoration it was always intended that the tower was tackled. Among other things, the roof tiles of the striker are being replaced, but later it turned out that the wood in the drum, the straight part under rush hour, was due for replacement because a lot of moisture had been coughed. « It will take a few weeks until the beams have all been replaced. Furthermore, the slates of the roof will all be replaced and we will also renew all hanging gutters, » tells site manager Ilia Gielen from Corvers NV us.
The striker will remain covered on the construction site until the drum of the tower has been restored. « Then we put the striker on it again. We hope to be able to finish this for construction leave. » After the repair works of the striker, the tower also gets an extra clock. It is currently located with the Sisters Clarissen, in the monastery opposite the church.
