Specialists from the Czech Republic and Serbia arrived to help the injured in Kocani, a medical team comes and Israel
Specialists from Belgrade and the Czech Republic have arrived in the country to help treat the injured in the catastrophic fire in a discotheque in Kocani, which, according to the latest official information, killed 59 people and injured 155. In addition to these 15 specialists, specialists from Israel are expected to arrive.
Health Minister Arben Taravari informed about this at today's press conference and added that they would be deployed in the clinics where needed.
Taravari clarified that some patients were transported outside the country not because we do not have a burner center, but because it is a large number of patients.
– And to go to larger states there are no burning centers. You see that all states accept from two to five patients, no more. We have a shock, burns to more than 100 people to be treated and it is normal that we do not have the capacity to treat them well. These patients due to the complications that occur from burns, and all of them are second or third degree, there is already a danger of infections and our goal was to treat them better, and we may be ready for patients who were latent – Taravari said.
Health Insurance Fund (HIF) Director Saso Klekovski assessed that the Macedonian health system was well done in the whole situation and that even if we had a burn center, they could not be given appropriate care because patients with such burns require special tremen.
