« Spartak » (Varna) was left without a license for the First Football League, « Krumovgrad » is in question

The License Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union has refused a license for the First Professional League of Spartak (Varna) for the 2025/26 season. The Commission met during the week, and the announcement appeared on the official website of the BFS today.

The reason for the denied license of Spartak (Varna) is a failure to comply with the financial criteria set out in the Ordinance on National Club Licensing, ed. 2024 For the same reason, a license was denied at the second division « Etar » (Veliko Turnovo), which, however, has no chance of qualifying in the First League. The main financial criterion, which does not meet the Varna people and the « boyars », is the negative net owner of the capital of the companies, which means that much of the revenue is allocated as an internal loan by the owners, as well as a large discrepancy between the assets of the companies and their liabilities.

Krumovgrad’s documents have not been considered at the meeting of the license committee, which will happen at the next meeting, at which the football club will have to provide additional information. The license committee states that football clubs, which have agreements for deferred payment of obligations to the NRA, receive a conditional license in order to track and control the implementation of the agreements. These clubs are certainly Levski and Lokomotiv (Plovdiv), which still have obligations to the National Revenue Agency.
