Spain and Portugal hit a wide range of power supply / day
The Spanish power transmission network company Red Electica points out that the power supply has affected the Pyrenees Peninsula.
Spanish TV channel RTVE reports that the power supply rupture was detected in several regions of the country at 12:30 pm (13.30 Latvian time), which has resulted in electricity in the Spanish parliament in Madrid and subway stations across the country.
People in Barcelona and its surroundings also report on the rupture of the power supply.
The Spanish railway infrastructure company « Adif » reports that train traffic has been suspended throughout the country due to a power supply break and a closed Madrid airport.
The storylines broadcast on Spanish TV shows people leaving the metro stations in Madrid, as well as showing empty stations with stopped trains in Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Lisbon and its surroundings, as well as the north and southern parts of the country, remain in Portugal without power supply. The Lisbon Airport was forced to stop.
Telecommunications were also affected, stating that they do not have access to mobile networks in Portugal and Spain. ATMs and electronic payment systems have stopped working in Portugal.
Hospitals and emergency services in Portugal were forced to switch to generators.
The Portuguese energy company « E-Redes » reports that the power supply is related to problems in the European electricity system, the Portuguese newspaper « Expresso » writes.
E-Redes points out that electricity loss has also affected some regions of France. The media reports that the subway is not running in Lisbon and that traffic lights are not in the city center.
Meanwhile, Red Electica reports that the company has managed to renovate electricity in the north and south of the country, but the problem has not yet been resolved.
The Spanish and Portuguese authorities are trying to find out the reasons for this power supply.
